“My Venezuelas” is an exuberant and optimistic body of work. It combines a critical assessment of the present social and political realm with the evocative, and often jovial, Venezuela that lives in Mederos' memory; while successfully balancing a flamboyant use of color with sinuous, animated lines. With "My Venezuelas," the artist aspires to "illustrate the spirit" - the chispa - which she hopes will prevail and serve as the nexus that will reassure a whole nation that, after this present and devastating conflict is all over, Venezuela will resurface a more mature country, a more united people, as an evolved Venezuela, ready to realistically deal with their socio-economic and cultural issues.
