A Good Thing Keeps On Going Out On The 'Neck

on Sat, 07/16/2011 - 20:32

I had a great show at the Kahn Studio in Gloucester. The atmosphere at Rocky Neck is wonderful and I came to understand why it is the oldest continuously-running art colony in the Americas. I did not want to leave. I wanted to stay and keep showing my work; I wanted to stay and paint. My wish came true when I mentioned this to my hostess, Ellen Lefavour, who in turn informed me there was one vacant space left for the season. That's when things got really interesting.

Seizing the moment, Stevie and I sprung into action and snatched it right up.

Our First Night On The Neck Was Fabulous

We'd heard about the monthly event called "Nights On The Neck", but we had no idea that there would be this kind of scene. Live music on the wharf, restaurants buzzing, people everywhere and the weather couldn't have been better in Gloucester, MA! Not to mention the gorgeous half-moon rising over the proceedings in the evening sky.

Having signed the lease only days before (it felt like only hours), we curated a show of Gigi's work and got it all hung for our "soft" opening.
