elcome to Adriana “Gigi” Mederos' website where you will find works that reflect the artist's vibrancy, love of line and color, humor, and life experiences.

Gigi's most recent works are filled with sensual color and line-play; seeming to simultaneously present to the viewer a microcosm and a macrocosm. These acrylics on canvas are direct lines to her earliest memories of staring into a microscope at her father's side, while at the same time being a snapshot of her intimate contact with the paint while doing the work.

Her themes of personal, national, cultural, and social identity arise from the paintings themselves. They speak in the bright colored landscapes and in the swirling organic lines. Social and personal identity are found in the tight-knit families of related shapes and the dense, populated areas they inhabit. As she titles her work, she allows the work to talk to her and to connect to the stories, memories, and places of her childhood.
